Went to the midnight release at my local GameStop and picked up my Limited Edition copy and the Limited Edition guide to go with it. I love me those Limited Editions! There weren’t many people there from what I saw, like 10 or so. Then again, I live in a small town and was surprised that they even got to do a midnight release.

So I rush home. Wait for my brother to finish up a drift race he was doing on Grid. Then I go and start the download and install of the Call of Duty 4 map pack that came with the Game of the Year Edition. Wha!? I didn’t start the install of MGS?! Well, I had bought Call of Duty 4 earlier in the day and didn’t have a chance to download the map pack. So, I wanted to get that done and out of the way. Now I have the game on both my PC and PS3.

Now I get to Metal Gear Solid 4. Pop in the disk. The first thing I do is go into the options to see what was available. There were a few things here and there and I noticed that there was an option to turn blood off. What!? Why? Oh well, I guess some people can’t handle it so they gave everyone that option. After going through the options, I go to the virtual shooting range to test it out. It was fun blowing up virtual people with the RPG that was available for basic use. Then I used the sniper rifle and other weapons before exiting to play the game.

I start a new game. There are 4 difficulty settings: Liquid Easy, Naked Normal, Solid Normal, and Big Boss Hard. Selected Solid Normal as my difficulty of choice. I didn’t want it to be too easy and not too hard but with a little bit of a challenge. Go ahead and do the install. It only took 8 minutes and had some funny messages appear on screen during installation while Snake is puffing away.

Then it starts.

OMG! Everything is so awesome! I played through all the acts and finish the game within 20 hours. The game played like a movie to me. Involving the player and having them direct where and when the action would happen. I loved the use of the OctoCamo. You could blend in with almost anything and lower your detection level. It gets a lot more fun when you get the Face OctoCamo later on in the game. This game pushes the envelop with it’s graphical style and storyline. The visuals were amazing. The storyline brought everything full circle and helped fill in the gaps that were left from previous Metal Gear games. There was emotional impact to me as it.. I don’t want to spoil it for others who haven’t played it just yet. Let’s just say, I almost cried a few times.. Yes, I’m a softy when it comes to emotional stuff. Not many games can do that for me out side of RPGs.

All I can say it that I had a blast playing the game. Now, I will follow the guide to do and get things I didn’t get on my first play through. And this time, on the new difficulty level of Boss Extreme. It’ll be a challenge this time around. If you haven’t already bought the game, buy it now! If you don’t have a PS3, buy it and the game!

Yet another MMORPG. Well, this time around it’s more adult. You’ve got blood, boobs, and fatalities. Enough of that stuff. It’s a pretty good MMORPG because it’s something different from the regular ones out there. To me, it’s more of a mix between the beauty of Guild Wars and the game play of World of Warcraft.

They then throw in another mechanic called the combo system. It’s a very interesting system and shows you what buttons to press in order to execute the combo. These combos do more damage than regular attacks. Some people don’t like it because they’re too used to the right-click auto attack and use spells routine World of Warcraft built into people. You can score greater hits by hitting unprotected/unshielded direction areas on your opponent.

The Feats tree is similar to World of Warcraft’s Talent tree. You have your main/general class skills you can learn that all other classes can learn. Then you have your specific class skills like World of Warcraft. Example: Rogue Class has 3 subclasses in Assassin, Barbarian, and Ranger. They have general Rogue class skills shared with all of them. Then each specific subclass has it’s own skill sets. Two specific ones for that specific class. My Assassin Rogue for example, I can go into being more stealthy and kill people from the shadows or be a dps Assassin and be like a Rogue tank. Then you have 3 separate bags. One for items, another for quest items, and the other for resources.

The guild part of it can be very in-depth. You can build your own kind of castle or something similar. Then you’ll have to protect it too. You can also make alliances with other guilds and work together. Oh and MOUNTED COMBAT!!! Can’t do that in World of Warcraft…yet. I can’t wait to see what that’s like. There are also different ways to do and complete quests. Single-player is done at night and is more story driven for your class and race where everything is solo. Then there’s multi-player which is done during the day where you can solo quests or do them in groups. But it’s not totally all during the day but instead, there are day and night cycles. They have PvP, PvE, RPPvP and something different called Culture PvP. Culture PvP, from my understanding, is like a regular PvP server but all races are against each other. But you can still group together like usual. But when you’re not in a group, everything is fair game.

Age of Conan is something different from the usual MMORPG. It’s more adult in nature, nudity, blood, profanity, etc… But some of the people playing seem like kids by yelling Boobies when they see someone topless. I made a female dark templar named Saber on Zug. I have it to where I’m going to make her topless at all times, unless it’s a tough battle and I have to wear something to have a better defense rating. So yes, I do keep a top in my bag at all times just in case I need it. But people stop and look like they’ve never seen a topless woman before. LOL!!! It’s so funny. It almost distracts people too. One time, someone looked at me and stopped. Next thing you know, he’s being attacked and not doing a thing about it. So I go over and kill off the cat attacking him and take the loot. It’s totally crazy and something different. A departure from the usual… Plus, it’s CONAN!!! Wish they would have used Arnold for Conan’s voice… >_<

Go ahead and buy it, use the 30 days free to make your decision if you want to keep playing. So far, I don't see much in the form of Raiding like in World of Warcraft… Maybe because I’m still on the beginner island. Well, there is a trial… But I don’t see anything about it anywhere in my account information. You could buy the game also and get 30 days free! That’s basically what I’m doing. I like it.

Another one of those free MMORPGs. Cutesy anime style. I’ve tried it and it’s pretty interesting. Not bad for a free game. But you would have to pay to get certain things. You can find more information on their website.
